Lake Travis is one of our Highland Lakes destinations, and we run it as a true all-inclusive package: you get here, and we handle lodging, meals, guiding, boats and gear. All you do is fish.

Lake Travis is a premier 63-mile-long reservoir in the Texas Hill Country, located northwest of downtown Austin. Renowned for its clear, emerald waters and limestone cliffs, the lake is a major regional hub for boating, fishing and watersports, complete with cliffside dining and waterfront marinas.

Lake Travis is one of the larger freshwater lakes in central Texas, with a diverse selection of areas to fish. It's known for quantity rather than quality, but there have been some hawgs taken out of it in the past few years. In fact, starting in 2011 it has been the best for quality I've ever seen — plenty of 4-5 lb fish and some even bigger. That's pretty awesome for a lake that usually produces mostly 1-3 pound bass. This is also the best lake to bring your kids: it's easy to fish, and they'll most likely catch the most fish here. We target largemouth, but there are other species in the lake we can have fun with too — crappie, white bass and catfish, and every once in a while we'll target bluegill for the kids.

Travis gives you Hill Country scenery and easy access right outside the city — no long haul to the country and no border crossing. It's the ideal lake for a relaxed, family-friendly trip that still has real big-bass upside, all rolled into the same all-inclusive package.
